Christmas Tree Farm

Christmas tree farms can add a bit of color to an otherwise dreary winter scene in Middle Tennessee. Combine the green in the trees with a red barn and you’ve got something to work with!

In town, you might want to stop by a street stand selling trees – maybe from a civic organization, church or scout troop. Out in the countryside you can find two types of tree farms. One is “cut-your-own” where the customer is allowed to wander the trees and cut their own tree with a saw.

The other type sells their trees live with root ball in tact. These farms typically do not allow wondering the trees because there are large holes where the root baller has excavated other trees.

So call ahead. Ask about walking through the trees. Also ask about a fee. Usually the fee will be nominal but best to be prepared with a few dollars to pay any fee.
