Lake Cheston

Lake Cheston is a small reservoir lake on the campus of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. The lake is notable for a couple of reasons.

The university is a frequent spot for photographers looking for beautiful architecture for senior pictures. So while you are on campus, why not scoot down the road about a mile and shoot some landscapes or use the setting as beautiful backgrounds?

A second reason the lake so great for photos is the trail that closely surrounds the entire lake. This provides an enormous number of scenes and angles. Along the shore there are boardwalks, footbridges, a beach area, a picnic area with open shade and large trees. Spring, summer, and fall are all great.

One other tip: Lake Cheston is connected to the trail system around Sewanee. So if you have some extra time, walk down a trail and look for a shot!
