I’ve shot engagements, weddings, college seniors, and high school seniors on college campuses. Colleges have well maintained grounds, beautiful architecture, lovely chapels, and memories! What could be better?
Most colleges (and universities) have an open door policy on taking pictures. To gain access to the inside of a specific building, we might need to call for permission. Scheduling is also a concern. Weekends are usually not busy UNLESS there’s a big game on campus. Or maybe an orientation. Or a concert, or a political rally, or a special program, … . You see where I’m going here? Better check the college campus calendar before you schedule a shoot.
One reason to shoot on a college campus if the association with the college. A high school senior may be planning to attend here next year. Or a college senior may be looking forward to graduation. An alumnus may be looking back on the fun and freaky memories while they were there.
